Notice to Parents
This Notice to Parents explains, in plain language, how Drakey works, what information we collect when a child uses the app, how we use that information, and what controls you have as a parent or legal guardian. Please read it carefully before allowing your child to use Drakey. Where applicable, this Notice is intended to satisfy the direct-notice requirements of the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act ("COPPA") and parallel state-level children's privacy laws.
1. About Drakey
Drakey is a mobile application designed for children under the age of eight. It is operated by [Drakey LLC], a company located at [COMPANY ADDRESS] (referred to in this Notice as "Drakey," "we, us, or our"). Drakey offers age-appropriate content, activities, and features that are curated and reviewed with younger children in mind.
Although Drakey is built for children, this Notice is written for the parent or legal guardian who downloads, sets up, or permits use of the app. By enabling your child to use Drakey, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old and the parent or legal guardian of the child user.
2. Parental Consent
Because Drakey is directed to children under the age of 13, we require verifiable parental consent before a child uses any feature that involves the collection of personal information from that child. During setup, you will be asked to confirm your identity as a parent or guardian and to provide your consent. You can withdraw your consent at any time by following the steps in Section 8 ("Parental Controls and Choices") or by contacting us at support@drakey.app.
If we discover that we have collected personal information from a child without the required parental consent, we will delete that information promptly.
3. Information We Collect
We try to collect only what is needed to make Drakey work and to keep it safe for children. The categories of information we may collect include:
Information you provide during setup, such as the parent's name and email address, and the child's first name, age range, and avatar selection.
Activity information generated as the child uses the app, such as videos watched, activities completed, in-app selections, search queries (if enabled), and time spent in the app.
Device and technical information, such as device type, operating system, app version, language settings, approximate (non-precise) location derived from IP address, and limited diagnostic data needed to keep the app running.
Persistent identifiers (such as a device or app instance identifier) used solely to support the internal operation of Drakey.
We do not knowingly collect precise geolocation, contact lists, photos, microphone recordings, or biometric data from a child. Voice-based features, if any, are off by default and may only be enabled by a parent.
4. How We Use the Information
We use the information described above to:
Operate, maintain, secure, and improve Drakey.
Personalize age-appropriate content recommendations within the app based on the child's selected age range and prior in-app activity.
Detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, technical issues, or violations of these terms.
Communicate with you, the parent, about the child's account, important service updates, and changes to this Notice.
Comply with our legal obligations and respond to lawful requests from public authorities.
We do not use a child's personal information for targeted or behavioral advertising. Any advertising shown in Drakey, if present, is limited to contextual advertising that does not rely on tracking the child across apps or websites.
5. How We Share Information
We share a child's personal information only in the limited circumstances described below:
With the parent or legal guardian who set up the account.
With service providers and vendors who help us operate Drakey (for example, hosting, analytics designed for children's services, customer support, and content moderation). These providers are contractually required to protect the information and use it only for the purposes we specify.
When required by law, valid legal process, or a good-faith belief that disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Drakey, our users, or the public.
In connection with a corporate transaction such as a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case we will provide notice before any personal information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
We do not sell a child's personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
6. Data Retention and Deletion
We keep a child's personal information only for as long as is reasonably necessary to provide the service and to fulfill the purposes described in this Notice, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law. You may request deletion of your child's account and associated personal information at any time by contacting support@drakey.app.
7. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. No method of transmission or storage is fully secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Parental Controls and Choices
As a parent, you may at any time:
Review the categories of personal information we have collected from your child.
Request that we delete your child's personal information.
Refuse further collection or use of your child's personal information.
Manage in-app settings, including content age range, timer-based session limits, search settings, and content blocking.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@drakey.app. We may ask you to verify your identity as the parent before acting on the request.
9. Changes to This Notice
We may update this Notice from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide notice to the parent of record (for example, by email or in-app notification) before the changes take effect. Changes that materially expand our collection or use of personal information will require renewed parental consent where required by law.
